The 58th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Tuesday 17th April 1866 over the Rowley Mile, was Lord Lyon (4/7 fav), a bay colt by Stockwell out of Paradigm, owned by Mr Richard Sutton. The winner won by a length in 1 minute 48.50 secs, with a head back to the third. A field of 15 runners contested the race which was worth £4,850 (Equivalent to £562,600 in 2017)
